SourceCF, Inc. was formed in July 2001 as a specialty pharmaceutical and medical company serving patients and families affected by cystic fibrosis, the healthcare providers committed to treating the disease, and the research organizations who are developing new and innovative treatments. The management and employees of SourceCF have over ninety years of combined expertise working within the cystic fibrosis community. SourceCF offers expertise in digestive care, anti-infectives, nutritionals, and pulmonary management equipment and are committed to serve the CF community with well-trained representatives nationwide fulfilling the needs of the caregivers and treatment teams throughout North America.
Cystic Fibrosis is the leading most common life shortening genetic disease among Caucasians worldwide effecting 1 in 3,300 live births in our country. It is treated in a small number of specialty research based teaching facilities in the U.S managed by highly effective teams of caregivers that include physicians specialized in pulmonology, nutritionists knowledgeable in the dietary needs of CF patients, and other healthcare providers, such as respiratory therapists. These CF caregiver teams are dedicated to the diagnosis and long-term management of the disease.
Like the CF Center care model, SourceCF is focused solely on supporting the diverse treatments required of this disease. The SourceCF business model is unique in pharmaceutical and medical equipment sales. By representing a number of specialty products, including our own, SourceCF becomes a vital member of the caregiver team and fulfills our mission of enhancing the quality of life for people with cystic fibrosis.
Today, SourceCF represents a comprehensive suite of quality pharmaceutical and medical products that include a highly efficient electronic nebulizer that delivers extremely fast treatments, eFlow® SCF, from PARI, anti-infective drugs from X-GEN Pharmaceuticals (formerly Pharma-Tek) of Elmira, New York, aerosolized drug delivery products from PARI Respiratory Equipment Company of Midlothian, Virginia, and a portable chest wall oscillation vest system, SmartVest®, from Electromed of New Prague, Minnesota. In addition, SourceCF has developed a multivitamin line which covers persons with cystic fibrosis from infancy to adulthood with easy to swallow SourceCF Softgels for adults, good tasting bubble gum flavored SourceCF Chewables for adolescents and easily tolerated citrus flavored SourceCF Pediatric Drops for infants. All of our products address unmet needs by introducing new treatment options, assisting in lifecycle management of existing therapies or introducing more cost effective choices.
SourceCF continues to work closely with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to identify and develop new products and services that will aid the CF community and extend the product suite of our company. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was established in 1955 to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has consistently been recognized as one of the top health organizations in the country at efficiently using its money raised to invest in medical/research programs. According to The Wall Street Journal's SmartMoney magazine, the CF Foundation is a charity that "won't waste your money".
Recently, SourceCF Clinical Research and Development was formed to serve the Cystic Fibrosis community through the development of new treatment options aimed at improving the lives of people with this disease. We are excited to serve the CF community in this way. Life expectancy continues to increase through new options and approaches to care delivery and large-scale clinical trials are needed to support this important work.
